MNX Global Logistics CEO Paul J. Martins and The Riverside Company meet with members of Congress on Capitol Hill
On September 9th, 2015, The Riverside Company and a group of their portfolio Chief Executives, including MNX CEO Paul J. Martins met with members of Congress to discuss the benefits of private equity investments on mid-market businesses. The team participated in 29 meetings with elected officials as part of the congressional outreach program with the Private Equity Growth Capital Council.
During the visit, Riverside and portfolio executives met with the staff of Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL), a US Presidential Contender, Senator David Perdue (R-GA), Senator Cory Gardner (R-CO) and Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR), among others.
"Many of the lawmakers who favor less government regulations and tax policies that create an environment of business growth and investment already realize the tremendous value of private equity and the portfolio companies backed by private equity", said Paul J. Martins, MNX CEO. "Others who tend to lump private equity with hedge funds were polite in listening and surprised at the impact private equity has on creating jobs in America. They were not aware that more than 11 million Americans are employed directly due to private equity investments."
Events such as this help put MNX on the map as MNX continues to position itself as a thought leader in shaping the regulatory environment for both the private equity industry and the logistics and transportation industry.
