MNX's Los Angeles Facility Receives Approval as a Certified Cargo Screening Facility (CCSF)
Los Angeles, CA: MNX has announced that their LA facility has received approval as a Certified Cargo Screening Facility (CCSF). The CCSP program certification was achieved through an extensive collaboration with the TSA. MNX is now able to pre-screen cargo prior to tendering it to an airline.
Tom Belmont, COO of MNX states, “This should be a great advantage to our customers as the 50% and 100% screening regulations take effect in February 2009 and August 2010 respectively. MNX has been an active partner on the TSA and the CCSP program. As part of this, MNX’s LAX Facility was recently selected as a Phase One test case by the TSA, and we are starting to implement the required additional security. In the interest of protecting the entire supply chain and minimizing delays for our clients, we have involved many local vendors in the CCSP process and recently hosted the TSA and those vendors at our LAX HQ. Many of the vendors acquired a better understanding of the process from this meeting with TSA, and have expressed a commitment to participate and become certified screening facilities themselves. This is an integral part of the process, as no one entity, airlines included, can possibly screen every piece of cargo in a timely fashion. Thus it is imperative for all entities in the supply chain to participate for their own interests as well as to assist in expediting their clients’ products through the system”.
