MNX Announces Full Compliance with TSA Certified Cargo Screening Program
Los Angeles MNX Facility is Set to Play a Key Role in Significantly Enhancing Security for all Air Cargo Transported Through Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)
Los Angeles, CA, February 23, 2010 -- MNX, a leading provider of expedited transportation and logistical services, announced its certification as the first independent screening facility in Los Angeles to comply with new Transportation and Security Administration (TSA) regulations for air cargo. The new Federal Certified Cargo Screening Program (CCSP) mandates will be initiated in August 2010, and are the most far-reaching regulatory changes to impact the transportation and logistics industry since 9/11.
MNX’s significant commitment to security related technology and processes has positioned it as pivotal point as one of only three Los Angeles screening facilities in compliance with the new Federal regulations. Shippers that are not CCSP certified will be required to use facilities such as MNX’s to screen air cargo before it is placed on a passenger aircraft.

In preparation for the CCSP provisions becoming active in August 2010, MNX has begun an outreach program to its network of customers, partners, and other shippers. In partnership with the TSA, MNX is proactively communicating suggested processes that will ease the potential burden of compliance with each aspect of the CCSP.
The CCSP provisions include:
- Allow screening of cargo early in the air cargo supply chain by a trusted, vetted, audited, federally regulated facility
- Establish the integrity of a shipment through enhanced physical and personnel security standards at Certified Cargo Screening Facilities (CCSFs)
- Maintain the integrity of a shipment throughout the supply chain by utilizing stringent chain of custody methods
